Fueling Your Mission, One Roast at a Time

Combat Coffee was started by Mike Shaw after a 22 year career in the Air Force as a way to give back to Veterans and help as much as he could. 

His love for coffee started while working at the Pentagon in 2007. He found out there was more to coffee than adding a tremendous amount of sweetener and cream to a cup of coffee, just to make it somewhat drinkable. His supervisor taught him how to use a French press to make better coffee, and after that, he couldn’t stomach a cup of sweetened coffee since. He found out his perfect cup was black. 

In 2021 he started getting into roasting fresh beans and he couldn’t get enough. He started bringing fresh roasted beans to work, brewing via French press, and served it before 0600. It became so clear, our Nation’s strongest Airmen needed fresh coffee to succeed in their mission every day. 

Now, Mike passes on this ritual of amazing fresh coffee. Since his retirement, he still supports the Air Force and Combat Coffee gives to Wounded Warriors and the Shriners.
